Is a joint credit card an alternative to a secured credit card?
I am so pissed because I did not get a student credit card when I was in college. Instead, I've been using a debit card the last 5 years. I've graduated and started work - and just got denied by 2 credit card companies. The worst part is that I am extremely responsible financially and know that I would pay off my balance in full, every time.
Instead of getting a secured credit card where I would have to pay fees, I'm thinking of getting a joint credit card with my fiance who has a perfect credit score.
Is this a good idea? How good are my chances of being approved if the only things on my credit report are $22k in student loans (payments start this November) and one unused corporate credit card? BTW I can't use the corporate card for personal things, otherwise I wouldn't have this problem. My salary is about 3 times my amount of debt.

Can an employer refuse to provide "Incidentals Allowance" to employees during extended O/S travel ? (3 wks)?
My employer is sending me O/S for 3 weeks on official business. The company's travel policy is such that all expenses are payable for with a corporate credit card (accommodation, food and travel), which I am happy with. However, the travel and expenses policy states that incidentals such as newspapers, soft drinks and light entertainment (museum/movies) etc will need to be paid for by ourselves, and WILL NOT be reimbursed.
Can anyone tell me if this is legal or justifiable by any employer ?
Who can I speak to in order to know what I may be able to do ?
